As much as I'd like to try some new series I haven't yet seen, I've found myself returning to old favourites a little during these anxious and uncertain times. So in the past week I've watched some episodes of NYPD Blue (had watched some but not all of series), and re-watched episodes from Grimm and Numb3rs, among others. I'm looking forward to the new season of Bosch, although that's not available for another couple of weeks yet.

Hope everyone is doing alright, wherever you are in the world.

Craig, I am a huge fan of NYPD Blue and own all 12 seasons on DVD. Can't get enough.

I've read all of Tana French's books.  I especially liked The Witch Elm and Faithful Place. I've never been to Ireland but it would be fun to visit if I ever strike it rich.

I haven't read any of Tana French's books. Did you watch the Dublin Murder Squad series they made for the Starz channel? They are doing a free preview of the network on my cable system this week and I was thinking of checking it out.

I read in bed a lot, too. I'd love to get an old-fashioned leather comfy reading chair one day.

My grandfather had a leather recliner that I loved to sit in when I was a kid. I don't know how it would work out for me today if I had one of those chairs. I'm so used to the spots I read in now.

Yes, I just found out today that I'm going to be out of work for an extra four weeks as Massachusetts has extended their stay-at-home advisory and business closures order until May.

So it would appear that I'm going to have even more time to read than I thought.

I have a book case in my room and in the living room. Plus a couple of shelves in one of the spare bedrooms.

They are generally organized solely by the authors I want to have on the shelves. They aren't alphabetized by authors but whichever ones are on a shelf see all the books in order of publication.

The shelves in the living room contain some of my mom and dad's books, but I'm slowly weeding those out. As I empty a shelf, I pick an author to dedicate a shelf for their work.

I don't have a designated reading area in terms of decking out a room or anything. I do most of my reading either sitting on the couch in the living room or laying on my bed.

I haven't watched many mystery movies lately. I've been watching a lot of comfort food type movies. Nothing too challenging and nothing all that particularly great.

I am thinking of seeing 1917 because I wanted to see it when it originally came out but never got around to it.

And I'm also considering watching some of the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies that are available for free on On Demand.

Besides mystery and thrillers, I'm also a comic book fan.

I picked up the first issue of a new comic series called The Resistance. It's written by J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of the TV show Babylon 5. What I didn't realize is that it opens with the telling of a global pandemic breaking out and eventually killing 400 million people.

OOPS! Really not the story I wanted to read right now, even though it is a well told opening chapter.

My comfort reading otherwise was some new Star Wars comics before I dig into a new mystery novel tomorrow.

I've been trying to read as many of the books in my to-be-read pile that fit in with our March feature. I just finished MURDER IN AN IRISH VILLAGE by Carlene O'Connor. There are several other books in this series and I think I might have a couple of them around here someplace.

I'm glad there is a pronunciation guide as well as a glossary at the front of the book. I know how to pronounce some Irish names but there are a lot more where I haven't got a clue. It slowed me down a little to have to mentally stop and remind myself how some of the names in this book were pronounced. Normally I have to check with friends in England - their son married an Irish girl and their grandchildren have VERY Irish names. They are my go-to translators!

My parents had very good friends named O'Mahoney (pronounced Oh-MA-hunny) and the whole family also had very Irish names. They were my first introduction to Irish pronunciations.

That's a great book and series. One of my favorites. I recently read MURDER IN AN IRISH PUB, the most recent one to come out in paperback and it was another winning read.

I haven't had many instances where I started reading a book and realized that I've already read it before.

I keep a list of what I've read by authors so if it is on the list, I know I've already read it.

These days I have very little chance to re-read stuff so that helps cut down on any mistakes on my part.

Hey, whatever works. I'm easy to get along with! LOL

I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands now. The state of Massachusetts announced all non-essential businesses have to shut down by noon tomorrow (March 24th).

I'll have to file for unemployment now. Looks like I'll have a bit of extra time on my hands, at least for the next couple of weeks.

I've got few Irish or Scottish-themed books in my TBR pile that I was hoping to get around to reading this month, but it has been a total failure on my part in that regard.
