While we're on the subject of bookplates, this looks like a fun read - it's the third in a series:

By the way, the next book in the series is going to be called A DEADLY DELETION and it is due out in hardcover on July 27th.

It's fun to find bookplates when I buy an old book. I like to see who owned it before. Can't say that I've ever used a bookplate, but if I ever inherit one of those mansions with libraries full of gold edged books, I'll be sure to get some.

It wasn't a bookplate but when I bought an Ian Rankin book at a book sale a couple towns over back pre-pandemic, I found that it was actually signed by the author. I don't know who was crazy enough to just give the book away like that but I know that I'm not letting it go.

There are some of those mailbox libraries in my neighborhood, too. My granddaughters love to go shopping for kids books there.

I have a couple old paperbacks by this author but I don't really remember them. I may reread them soon.

Your old books must be more organized than mine are. :-(

Welcome and General Discussion / Re: R.I.P. Parnell Hall
« Last post by Becke Davis on January 30, 2021, 04:07:46 pm »
Sad. I didn't know he had died. I like Sudokus and crosswords, and of course I like mysteries, so I have read a lot of his books. I have a couple of them that I saved. It's hard to trade them because I like to do the puzzles that are in his books.

It took me a long time to read his book(s) because I had to do the crosswords and sudokus, too. And then when I got stuck on a crossword clue, I wasted a ton of time Googling Parnell Hall's name, trying to find a site where the answers were posted. Eventually I gave up and continued reading. And, duh, a few pages further along, the answers were posted right there in the book.
